1. Pak pushing as many terrorists as they can before winters: Army Chief
Army Chief General MM Naravane on Thursday 15.10.2020 said Pakistan is pushing as many terrorists as they can before the winters. "However, our counter-terrorist and counter-infiltration grid is...very effective as id evident from the number of..infiltration attemps that have been foiled on LoC," he added. From September 24 to October 15, total 17 terrorists have reportedly been killed by security forces.
2. Kohli becomes first-ever cricketer to play 200 T20 matches for 1 team
RCB captain Virat Kohli has become the first-ever player to feature in 200 T20 matches for one team. The ongoing RCB-KXIP match is Kohli's 200th T20 for RCB. He has represented RCB 185 times in IPL and 15 times in CLT20.
Kohli also holds the record for scoring the most number of runs for one team in T20 cricket.
3. India's global influence is growing continuously: Israeli envoy
Israel's Ambassador to India Ron Malka on Thursday 15.10.2020 said that India's influence in the world is growing continously. Speaking on relations between the two countries, Malka said that India has continued to support the Palestinian cause while maintaining friendship and "key strategic partnership" with Israel. Other countries have taken note of India's approach and are replicating it, he added.
4. SC issues notice to Centre to regulate content on OTT platforms
The Supreme Court has issued a notice to Centre on a plea for setting up an autonomous body to monitor and filter content on OTT platforms. The petitioners claimed that OTT platforms are abusing their freedom of speech and artistic liberty due to the lack of censorship. The bench has sought response from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
5. Shanti: WHO chief tweets in Hindi and urges leaders to protect the vulnerable
WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has urged the leaders to maintain peace and focus on combatting against coronavirus and "not the vlunerable". It's a pandemic: go after the virus, not the vulnerable," he wrote.
"Shanti" - Peace, he further tweeted in Hindi. More than 38million people worldwide have been infected with the virus.
6. Intel, CBSE set Guinness World Record for maximum users in AI lesson in 24 hrs
Intel India along with the Central Board of Secondary Education - CBSE set a Guinness World Record for the "Most Users to Take an Online Artificial Intelligence Lesson in 24hours" with 13,000 students. The virtual lesson was part of the ongoing "AI For Youth Virtual Symposium".
Union Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank took to Twitter to congratulate Intel and CBSE.
7. Musk's SpaceX to launch satellite that'll track rising sea levels
Elon Musk's SpaceX will launch a payload into the orbit next month that will help track the accelerating rise of sea levels. The "Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich" satellite, designed to detect millimeter-scale changes in elevation, will map 95% of Earth's ice-free ocean every 10days. It will also collect data that will help improve weather forecasts and climate models.
When will be launched?
It is scheduled to be launched on November 10 on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.
8. NASA to launch experimental satellite made by 3 Tamil Nadu students
An experimental satellite, 'Indian Sat', made by three Tamil Nadu students. M Adnaan, M Kesavan and V Arun, will be launched by NASA in suborbital space, The Hindu reported. It's mae of reinforced graphene polymer, is three centimeters in size and weighs 64grams. Their model was chosen from among many others submitted by contestants from over 50 countries.
When will it be launched?
The launch is scheduled to be in June 2021.
9. Govt to not mandate domestic listing for firms listing abroad: Report
The government has decided not to mandate secondary domestic listings for Indian firms that will list abroad first, reported Reuters. This comes after startups and firms reportedly voiced concerns over secondary listing hurting long-term valuations and raising compliance costs. Listing in seven nations, including the UK and US, will reportedly be allowed initially.

10. 30% of 1st phase candidates in Bihar Assembly polls have criminal records
As many as 319 candidates out of the 1,066 contestans fighting the first phase of Bihar Assembly polls have a criminal record, according to the data released by Bihar's chief electoral officer. According to the Hindustan Times, Gaya district, which has 10 Assembly constituencies, has the highest number of 49 candidates with criminal antecedents contesting the Assembly elections.
